Kauai 4 and Final: Miscellaneous

A few more moments to remember:

Sunset watching with Judy:

... And dark chocolate covered macadamia nuts:

Perfect, beautiful lighthouse:

Lighthouse with Keens.  Even better!

Hike...

Up to pretty view:

Waimea Canyon:

And last but not least... the North side of the island where "South Pacific" was filmed:

*Sigh*  Goodbye, Kauai; I will definitely come back some day.

Kauai 3: Beaches

Fun Kauai Fact:  Kauai has more beach than all the other Hawaiian islands combined.  This is because the island is older.  (If I'm wrong I'm sorry, that's just what the captain/tour guide on our boat ride told us:)  Cool huh??

So here's what we did on the beach- we kissed, we posed, we meditated, and we played:

We took some baby girl beach pictures (Thank you photographer Dan) so that we can prove to her later that she's already been to Hawaii!

Kauai 2: Catamaran Journey

We went on a Catamaran ride around the south and west side of the island.  Oh boy it was beautiful!  Kauai has the most beautiful canyons and mountains right on the coast.

God's creations are amazing.  We saw many dolphins, whales, and sea turtles.  The dolphins did a lot of spinning in the air and playing for us (I thought only SeaWorld trained dolphins did that haha).  And a humpback whale and her baby swam right under our boat.

Highlight:  The baby dolphins doing their air spins.  SO CUTE!

Kauai: Valentine's Day

We just got back from Kauai, Hawaii.  Yes, it was amazing.  Yes, I returned home to 70 mph winds and snow that make me want to go back.

We went with Dan and Judy, Paul's parents, and not only were we spoiled rotten on this trip, but they are great company and it was wonderful to spend time with them and keep getting to know them.  Random highlights that I don't have pictures of:
  • Dan's grill skill:  We had burgers twice and steak once for dinner and Dan sure knows how to grill.  Mmmmmmmmmm.
  • Water aerobics with Judy:  While the boys golfed, Judy was awesome enough to join me for a water aerobics class offered at the hotel.  And it was fun!  I haven't done that since I was in high school when Nathalie and I would join all the older ladies at the YMCA classes:)
  • I'm pretty sure baby girl doubled in size while we were in Hawaii.  She is now kicking my ribs and comparing my 26 week pictures with 27-8 week Hawaii pictures help me understand why my tummy was extra itchy!  My theory:  She LOVED all the extra sea-level oxygen.  :)
  • Poker:  Poker has been a Hendrickson family tradition for generations and Paul learned how to play when he was 4.  Is that even possible?  Anyway, we played with honey nut cheerios and I must say- I'm not too bad;)
Day one on the island was Valentines Day.

Luckily, I brought some heart shaped sunglasses with me!

Paul and I took a stroll on our hotel beach (hotel in background) and there was a Valentine's rainbow for us:)

That night, Dan and Judy gave me a birthday present so I pretended to blow out some candles.  It's a new Ipod nano!  I wasn't expecting it but I've been wanting one and am mucho excited/grateful.

25-26 Week Belly

It's a little weird posting pictures I've taken of myself in the mirror, but here they are!  I suppose I'll be glad I have these in the future right?

First Anniversary

I love being married, with all its happiness and challenges, and Paul and I made it a year!!  And it's our last anniversary being a family of 1!

Paul surprised me with a Denver weekend on our anniversary in January and it was fun to get out of town.  We had a great time.  We did some baby shopping and have a couple random pictures from the Nature and Science museum lol.

First time (okay only time so far) taking advantage of this:

My dad visited the weekend after our anniversary, and he helped us put our crib together.  My dad is doing business in Denver every couple months, so we will probably get to see him again once or twice before baby girl comes:)

We got our new Britax jogging/all-purpose stroller in the mail yesterday.  Could I be more excited?  NO.  We are getting closer to being ready!!

33!

Paul turned 33 in January.  It was a busy, busy birthday for Paul with his schoolwork.  So we had to SQUEEZE it in.  Haha, I'm afraid I made it like a kid's party with the balloon and star candles, but he was a good sport and I think he enjoyed it:)  Happy birthday to my hunky husband!
